After sitting dormant for three years, a public-private partnership is transforming what was once a boutique hospital into a new medical complex that will offer healthcare services to residents in North Baton Rouge — something local leaders say is much-needed.
The New Era Medical Complex within the Howell Place industrial plaza is receiving new tenants from Ochsner Health, Oceans Healthcare, Capital Area Human Services and the Louisiana Center for Eyes in a development deal that’s set to create more than 100 jobs and possibly spur more economic development in the surrounding area, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome said Thursday.
